The Chorus secured the services of vocal coaches Jeremy Fisher and Gillyanne Kayes from Vocal Process Ltd - renowned experts in the field of voice production - and stage a one-day seminar at Churchill College Cambridge.

In addition to the chorus, 69 guests from a wide variety of musical backgrounds and as far away as Windsor and York signed up for the stimulating day of education and exercises.

All participants aimed at improving our fundamental singing techniques. The seminar was judged a tremendous success and the proceeds allowed us to pay for the course as well as contributing £400 to Macmillan Cancer Support.

On the following day the tutors Gillyanne and Jeremy worked directly with the chorus. Several members were also able to have one-to-one sessions working on previously identified 'areas for improvement'.

The session recordings showed hard evidence of how well any singer can improve when given expert help to address a problem.
