May - European barbershop competition, Brighton. CCC successfully defended its European chorus championship.

2004

May - BABS Convention, Harrogate, UK. CCC Won its third BABS Chorus Championship maintaining its high standard of grade A scores.

July - International Eisteddfod, Llangollen, Wales.

For the first time in the Eisteddfod's history, barbershop harmony had its own section. This competition was closely contested with Cambridge coming out on top and Great Western Chorus coming second.

Choir of the World
Each of the winning choirs from the major choral competitions competes for this prestigeous title. The "Choral Olympics": the very best against the very best! This year, for the first time, barbershop harmony was included in this competition and Cambridge Chord Company won! Click here to see a photograph.


2003

July - International Chorus Competition, Montreal, Canada. This blue ribbon event of Barbershop singing competition saw the top twenty-one choruses in the world compete. CCC came eleventh: the best place ever by a British chorus.


2002

March - Coleraine International Choral Competition, NI. Another trip to Ireland but this time to the North. CCC competed in four categories and were successful in them all:

  • - Barbershop section - First place
  • - Light Entertainment - First place
  • - Male Voice - Third place
  • - Overall Festival Champions - Cambridge Chord Company



May - BABS Convention, Bournemouth. CCC won the Chorus Competition attaining grade A marks in all judging Categories. 83% overall.

2001

May - European Barbershop Competition, Glasgow - CCC won the Chorus Competition.

July - International Chorus Competition, Nashville USA. Winners from all the districts in North America and any winners of their national barbershop associations from around the world qualify to sing at this competition. Up to a thousand choruses compete to get to these finals. Only the top twenty-one succeed. Cambridge Chord Company took eighteenth place in this competition which is no mean feat at this level of competition.

November - BABS Prelims, Sheffield, UK. CCC first place
