1990

Cambridge Barbershop Harmony Club formed in January from thirteen experienced barbershop harmony singers.
We applied in July to join the British Association of Barbershop Singers (BABS). Full membership of BABS was granted at the September meeting.

1991

BABS Northern Prelims: We qualified for the national convention at our first attempt.

1992

BABS National Convention - Symphony Hall, International Convention Centre, Birmingham Placed sixteenth over all and won the first of the Small Chorus Awards.

1993

BABS Convention: We sang on the Friday night show because everyone forgot to register in time for the competition.

 

1994

BABS Convention, Brighton. Finished second to Sheffield's Hallmark of Harmony, winning the Bristolian Cup and, for the second time, the Small Chorus Trophy. (The judging categories had been changed to: Presentation, Music and Singing.) Competition songs were the Buddy Holly number Raining in My Heart and the Neighbours Medley. Both songs were arranged by Musical Director Paul Davies.

First trip to Eire: Athlone, as Guests of the Irish Association of Barbershop Singers (IABS). First television appearance, on Irish daytime television, to promote the IABS convention.

1995

BABS Convention - Harrogate. CCC took fifth place and won the Small Chorus Trophy. Chorus competition winners this year were Shannon Express from Potton.

IABS Convention, Limerick - CCC won the International category and appeared on various shows over the weekend and in various bars.
